HERMIONE GRANGER CONCEPT SERIES BY JEFF RODGERS

I want to share something with you that I have been working on over the past year. It's a series of pictures of my older daughter Fable dressed as the Harry Potter character Hermione Granger.

When we moved to the studio last year, my daughter and I walked into the old train they have here in the square. I thought it could be a good setting for the Hogwarts Express, and knowing she has a love for the Harry Potter series, an idea was born.

The first two are shot in the train here, and the second and third are both comped images shot in the studio and on location. This series was a labor of love, and I am actually quite proud of the way it's turned out. Now I need to brainstorm ideas for a series with my younger daughter.

Let me know what you think.

P.S. Let us know if this would interest you for your own children.

ARP family : MY Girls

A CHALLENGE FOR ALL MOMS :
This session was my Mother's Day gift :) WHY?  Because I never get infront of the camera with my girls. Please don't think that it's because I'm a photographer - that is not the reason.

The reason is because in my mind - it's never the perfect time. I have a tummy pudge, my hair doesn't look right, the girls need  hair cuts, we don't have the right clothes blah, blah, blah, blah!!!!!
WELL guess what...all my girls will care about and fight over are these images of us together. They will LOVE THEM with a passion. They wont dissect themselves - they'll see that we are silly, serious, BEAUTIFUL, goofy and they will see that I LOVE THEM. I LOVE THEM enough to get over myself and get in a session.

YES - there it is - I said it - GET OVER YOUR SELF.
Stop staying "oh I just want to have images made of my kids, I don't need to get in the images... I need to lose weight, this just isn't a good time" Again with the blah blah blah. It's not for you OR about you - it's for them. Show your kids how to be confident and proud of who they are.

So pick up the phone and call your photographer and book a session with your kids. I WISH I had this with my mom, I WISH I had this with my dad.

The PERFECT TIME is now - so go do it!!!!!

Allison :)

I would have to agree with Farrah...I adore these images! Fable is getting so tall and pretty and Ever has grown so much! Love the one of the two girls with Ever's legs bent up on Fable. LOVE the ones of Ever on your lap....so cute and you tickling her is awesome! Fable will love having that one of just the two of you....you both look beautiful! I could really comment on each one but that is all I have to say!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Father's Day can make me really miss my dad (he was a pretty cool guy ) BUT at the same time I LOVE celebrating JEFF - Fable and Ever's very own SUPERDAD :)

So here are a few silly images for your enjoyment. First up - JAY JONES - my dad. He was a performer and loved to make people laugh. These images are a great example of how it was really hard for him to act NORMAL infront of the camera - and a that's exactly why I LOVE them :)

JWJ_sillyfaces_blog

Next up is MR.JEFFREY Q. RODGERS : These images are just some iPhone picks from the weekend (also his 42nd birthday) He truly is an wonderful father and he can act pretty silly himself. He'd do anything for his girls and they love him soooo much.

The canvases you see have become a birthday / father's day tradition at our house. The girls get a canvas and they draw whatever they want. We have 14 canvases now!!!! Before we add them to our wall they will receive a blue color wash.

It is so fun to watch the progression of what and how the girls draw on their canvases each year. I'll do a full post on this project later. This canvas wall is a prize possession just like any images we have of our family. It is such an awesome gift to give and their daddy loves it :)

We hope all of you have had a WONDERFUL Father's Day!!!!

TAKE PICTURES TAKE PICTURES TAKE PICTURES - make time stop so your babies will REMEMBER!!!!! Can't say that enough :) Your kids will treasure them forever :)

ROSEMARY BEACH NIGHT SHOTS

Over the last couple of days I have been looking back over our Rosemary Beach sessions from last summer and I came across these shots. I went down to the beach one night during the full moon, around 1 a.m. to take some long exposure shots. I'm happy how they turned out, I will definitely be experimenting with this process again this summer.

Enjoy!

THE OPEN INVITATION

Do you wake up sometimes and ask your self - is this it? Is this how life is supposed to feel?

I thought I would be more fulfilled, more content, happier. Do you feel like you are just waiting for life to start? For most of us, there is an empty spot inside - one that we often try to fill with junk.

There have been times in my life (and I still struggle with this) when I've tried to fill that hole in me with things that will never make me complete.

I have lived on the thoughts of : Once we do this, I'll be happy, once I get this, things will be good. I used to call it being driven and now I just call it being a misguided. There is something very devastating about never feeling content.

If you resonate with anything I've said here, then you are like me and need something larger than YOU to be in charge. Yes, this post is about having a relationship with God. Maybe that sentence aggravates you because you've had nothing but bad experiences at church. I've had those too. I grew up in church, but up until Jeff and I got married, 11 years ago, I'd never really had a relationship with God or lived my life as a Christian.

If you are tired of the way things are in your life, if you are ready to have realtionships with people that really care, if you are ready to do something other than SURFACE CHURCH, or if you're ready to try this church thing for the first time then here's my invitation to you:

Meet us tomorrow at Christ The Rock  :

http://www.ctrmemphis.com/

8:45 AM : I'll be waiting at the entrance

directions: http://www.ctrmemphis.com/contact/

If you want to tell us you're coming ahead of time you can :
comment here or email us : [email protected] - I want to make sure we save enough seats for all of us.

If you've ever been to our website then you've heard our awesome Worship Leader Jeremy Horn. Jeremy is a national recording artist and has a new CD coming out soon! He'll be there tomorrow as well as our Pastor Chris Bennett. You'll love both of these guys and wont want to miss this service.

God is for everyone. It doesn't matter where you are in life, what you've done, what kind of relationship you've had or haven't had with HIM. Check out this video by Jeremy Cowart about A Portrait of Christ. It shows you that HE does not discriminate and welcomes you with open arms and He's ready and waiting.

HAPPY EASTER and we can't wait to see you tomorrow :)
