30 DAYS OF THANKFULNESS : NOV 30TH: CREATIVITY

NOVEMBER 30TH:
Today I am thankful that my job allows me to be creative and choose the direction I want my work to go - I honestly couldn't function without this freedom.

When I have an idea and free moment I do it. Take this image for example. I LOVE it :) Yes, it is my sweet Fable, she usually gets the first round of my crazy ideas since she is here with us everyday. I did wrap her up in fabric, crazy twist her hair up and shoot in a way I've never shot before (can't tell you that part:)

Sometimes, photography can be TOO PROPPED OUT. I personally and creatively have the desire to go back to what is most important to me - my subject and my ability to photograph them. When I look at this image of Fable - I think - wow - look how much she has grown up over the past year and then I think - it looks just like the personality that she exudes. 

It tells her story.  Not the story of the outfit, the background, or the prop - it tells the story of Fable.That is timeless. It will never go out of style and I will never get tired of staring at it. 

Thankful that I want to push myself artistically every day and super thankful that our family of ARPclients allows me to do that for them :)

News on sweet Lucy Krull : please pray for this sweet family.

This is a post I made back on NOVEMBER 29TH as part of my Thankfulness series.
I wanted to repost today to let you know that it is time to pray for peace for Lucy and her family. I can't imagine the suffering that these guys have been through already. Lucy's cancer is back and they do not have much time left with her. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Today I am thankful for the chance to meet Miss Lucy Krull:) 

We held a fundraiser for Lucy earlier this year - you can read about that here: Love on Lucy

Well, it wasn't until several months after the event that I finally was introduced to this amazing, spunky little girl :) We had a great session together and I even had MY picture taken with her!!! You can read about Lucy's journey here on their family blog : http://erikandkatekrull.blogspot.com/

She LOVES Buzz - and I LOVE her in this cape - so perfect!!!
She is actually on her Make-A-Wish trip meeting BUZZ right now!!! 

We laughed till we cried and we talked about everything from silly books to chocolate milk!!!

It truly was a blessed time together full of giggles - and that was just what we needed.

I love this silhouette of Kate and Lucy - a pure perfect moment for a mommy. You can just see how much they love each other. 

Thankful for our time together that day and the chance to tell Lucy's story :)

30 DAYS OF THANKFULNESS : NOV 28TH: LOCKS OF LOVE

NOVEMBER 28TH:
Today I am thankful for sweet friends and LOCKS OF LOVE 

I had the pleasure of photographing little Miss Elyana having her hair cut for Locks of LOVE. We come across so many little ones (and big ones) with cancer these days and loosing hair can be a stressful part of their journey. Elyana was not nervous at all! It was so precious. My sister-in-law,Alicia Smith - who works at Cabellos, did the cutting!!!

Elyana's parents, Josh & April, are some of our closest friends and I just couldn't miss this :)

Alicia does a great job so if you are looking for a stylist give her a call!
AND Josh & April have a line of painted canvases and handmade jewelry on esty called ellajude - check them out if you need a Christmas gift!!!
