This family was actually nominated twice!

We'll post more on their story and why they were selected tomorrow :)

There were so many wonderful nominations and we are hoping to make these giveaways something that happens a lot at ARP so many of those families will be receiving some random ARPlove when they least expect it :)

THANK YOU for helping us make this a success - all of you guys that took the time to send in your nominations have totally blessed us this season with your kind words.

To end your Christmas Day we've made a little video for you.

Please keep in mind that this is what happens when 2 year olds are asked to act :)

A fellow photographer, Kristen Kalp, recently put the challenge out for our photography community to give the joy of photography to a family in need this Christmas season.

We have accepted the challenge, and now it is your turn to do your part. Please join us by nominating someone in need. If you are another professional photographer, please join us by making this offer to your community as well.

You know someone.

You know someone who's experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, has someone in their family that is terminally ill or someone who is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can't afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family's spirit, love and beauty.

You know someone. We guarantee it.

We want to know who they are, and we want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography. $2000 worth to be exact.  Whether it's canvas or a book or multiple wall prints,  it's in your power to give them the artwork and heirlooms they deserve this Christmas season.

The person who nominates the winner will receive $500 in Allison Rodgers Photography credit!  What better reason to show some love could there possibly be?

You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing our services.

The nominee must be able to come to Memphis / North Mississippi area for a studio or location session.

Tell us who you know, what they're experiencing, and why they deserve a gift of photography.  Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself.

Please put "Christmas Giveaway" in the subject line and email the full story to: studio@allisonrodgers.com

The nomination deadline is Christmas Eve and the winner will be announced on Christmas Day...  get nominating!! We can't wait to read the entries!

Open your heart to someone this Christmas season - and thanks for giving us the opportunity to open ours!!

Allison + Jeff and the crew from ARP

Thanks for putting this together Kristen : PHOTOGRAPHERS - go do your part!!! :)

This month we are featuring the song Carol of the Bells by the group The Bird and The Bee. The musical duo from Los Angeles, consisting of musicians Greg Kurstin ("bee") and Inara George ("bird").
From their Myspace Profile: “Greg and Inara met a few years ago. Discovered a common love of jazz standards…nerded out for a couple of hours playing every song they knew…and then wrote and recorded a record together.”

The 1st single “Love Letter To Japan” from their upcoming album RAY GUNS ARE NOT JUST THE FUTURE is now available on iTunes.

In April 2007 the song "Again & Again" was featured in the episode "Desire" of Grey's Anatomy. Also their song "Polite Dance Song" from Please Clap Your Hands was featured in the fifth episode of the fourth season of Grey's Anatomy.

The full album will be released on 1.27.09 (iTunes pre-order 1.13.09)

Thank you Greg and Inara,

Jeff & Allison

Christmas Traditions:
We all love the traditions of Christmas. Now that we're parents we are constantly trying to fit new traditions in for our kids.
Of course one is a Christmas card - and even though we had a session for one last year - it was never produced... I guess that's what happens when you're the photographer and there are so many other cards to do! BUT we're doing our best to not let that happen this year. Last year's images have been put to good use though! They are featured on the Simply Canvas website and will be on display in their booth at ImagingUSA this year. (side note - sorry - back to the traditions.)

Here are some other traditions for the Rodgerses:
- we always make pumpkin pie ( Jeff and Fable's favorite)
- we always watch White Christmas after we put up the tree
- all of our ornaments are sentimental to us - and we add on or make more every year
- the girls always get matching Christmas pjs on Christmas Eve
- we have a big breakfast on Christmas morning
- we stay home on Christmas Day
- Clarence The Elf - has been with us this year and will become a yearly tradition as well
- Fable makes a Christmas video for the ARPblog (hope to include Ever this year)
- hot cocoa is very common occurrence this time of year as well
- lots of dancing in front of the tree
- we just received a snow village collection from my grandmother and creating the scene for that will be a huge tradition every year

So what are your traditions?
We'd love to hear them! Maybe we can add them to our list!

We hope you are having a wonderful Christmas Season :)

Allison & Jeff

First I must say I am addicted to your site. I check it every day. But anyway, our tradition is playing Hot and Cold with our Christmas tree ornaments. We each take turns finding an ornament on the tree and then the rest of the family must guess the ornament. The person who's turn it is picking the ornament will say your either HOT or COLD.

danielle fox (12-19-2008 at 10:53pm):

we say a prayer just before we decorate the tree. as we decorate the tree we make up songs that we think about that makes kiss mas so special and talk about all the reasons that we celebrate jesus' bday and why they mean so much to us. and christmas eve morning we make a bday cake for jesus and each tell a story of why jesus has blessed out lives while we celebrate his bday that night. and thanksgiving eve we all create an ornament for each other(four boys mind you-long night) so that way when they grow up and get into their own home they will have many ornaments to put on their first tree. these generally involve very funny looking pics of each of us to give to the others.. and all my boys make my java treat the morning of kiss mas and I create kiss mas colored smoothies..best to you and yours. many blessings to you all on this day. blessings ot your little baby girls..
