ARP Published : Amy Howard

Blog1_howard

Let me take a moment to introduce you to the amazing Amy Howard . Amy and I first met about a year and a half ago when she called ARP to photograph some of her incredible furniture. I truly think that Amy and I could sit and chat for hours - when we get together we turn into giddy artsy girls with big crazy dreams. She is so passionate about what she creates and she can get excited about the texture on a stone and develop an idea for a new chair from it! Let's just say she's super talented and you can't help but feel it when you are around her.

After a while of shooting for her furniture line, she finally asked me to photograph her!!!! I get so excited about the challenge of making grown-ups feel comfortable in front of the camera. When you can relax and be your natural self your images can't help but be amazing and I LOVE these images of her in her element. Doesn't she look beautiful!!!

Amy's hair & make-up were done by : Mary at Secret Services Salon

Amy's work and our images have been featured twice recently in local publications : Style BluePrint Memphis  and 4Memphis. We are so honored to work with Amy and the wonderful staff of Amy Howard Collection.

Thank you Amy for choosing us to tell your story!

EMHE : MONTGOMERY ALABAMA!!!!!!

Well. Well. Well...

I know many of you have been waiting for a few "behind the scenes" shots from our recent Extreme Makeover Home Edition - so here you go!!!!

We can't begin to tell you how blessed we have been to be a part of this amazing gift to the Jordans of Montgomery Alabama. So many people working tirelessly to create a HOME for this sweet sweet family and being asked to join in and do what we do best - to tell their story - what an honor.

Much of what I'd like to tell you - I can't - YET! But as soon as the show airs I'll be able to go in to detail and give you the backstory to why and how we shot the things we did.

We arrived in Montgomery on Sunday night and were there until late Tuesday. We shot Monday, edited, did post work, designed and presented on Tuesday. On Wednesday we were back at the Studio working a normal day as well as finishing  up all images and making sure everything was posted and to our lab late Wednesday night. WHCC printed and overnight more prints than I can even count - most being custom sizes and many were large...  EVERYTHING on this show is donated - our time, travel, our work, our lab's work, shipping and everything from everyone else. Incredible to be part of such a generous event.

The entire crew was awesome! Ty, Paul, Tracy and Eduardo were the Designers on this show and we were able to create some very special pieces for these guys - especially Ty. The Producers were also amazing - you'll see me with one of them below - Billy (I'm making a crazy face - what else is new...)

As soon as we know the air date we'll make a BIG announcement!!!! And we'll be posting more behind the scenes images over the next week.

Thank you - Billy, Eva, Matt, Ty, Chaz, Paul, Amber, Tracy, Eduardo, T-bone, Jack - and everyone else on the EHME crew, WHCC, & The Jordans (Monica, Brady, Brittany, Miles, Shan, & Tay-Tay) - you guys totally ROCK!!!!

:-) So excited for you guys!! What an awesome opportunity!

Billy Joe (03-04-2009 at 12:15pm):

DID you do the shots for the collage and potraits stuff in the house??

Jeff Rodgers (03-04-2009 at 1:19pm):

Billy,
We did shoot the collage and portraits for the house. I will post all those images after the episode airs in a couple of weeks.

Fred Bennett (03-11-2009 at 10:28am):

Every once in a while my wife Val wants us to go to a photographer for family pictures. I usually view this in the same category as a trip to the dentist. What a surprise when we visited Allison and Jeff this week with our church staff. It was a fun and truly delightful experience. Can't wait to see the pictures.
I was also impressed by their faith in expanding during these economic times!

JEREMY HORN + THE SOMEBODIES

Allison and I had the privilege of shooting the new images for Jeremy Horn's upcoming CD "The Sound of the Broken". From this shoot we'll create his new album art and all the cool promotional pieces that travel with Jeremy and the guys. It was a lot of fun to have total creative freedom and shoot images that convey the feel of Jeremy's music. Jeremy is an extremely talented artist and the Worship Leader at our church - Christ the Rock.

Thanks - Jeremy, Mike and Scott!

First up is a video of the shoot that Jeremy's buddy Kevin (or "Justin" as Allison likes to call him) shot using my Canon SD 870. It is about 9 minutes long. One of the best parts of the video is the last minute. Reflector Boy is not your calling Jeremy - you might want to keep your day job...

J + A :)

Here are few of the favorites from the shoot.

The video was funny (you can not tell me they do not have thick southern accents.LOL)
I reeeeallly loooooooove the second last one, the one with the lyrics behind him, and the one shot through the greenery... well done guys!

Chanel Parrott (09-25-2008 at 7:18am):

Kay (09-25-2008 at 8:25am):

I talked with Jeremy and we were wondering if you guys could photoshop me into the background with a tambourine or maybe some bongos.

Denise Horn (09-25-2008 at 9:15am):

My friends are ridiculously talented. It's pretty sick actually. Jeff and Allison- I'm in awe.

Lisa Barbour (09-25-2008 at 9:31am):

Really cool shots...it looks great! Can't wait to see how you use these. You guys are really talented!

Hannah Cole (09-26-2008 at 11:18am):

These are AMAZING!!!!! i tried to pick my favorite... but there is a tie between five of them.
So i just found out that you go to Christ the Rock! I do too. :) I can't wait to run into you!
...also, that video was hilarious. i think my favorite is when Kevin said "ugh what is this thing?!"... and then proceeded to touch it. ha I love that guy.

Sarah (09-30-2008 at 9:22am):

I love the pics, but seeing the video of the shoot was so fun! it really adds a whole new dimension for us "non-photogs" and lets us see what goes on behind those great finished products! I already knew you had a crazy ARP crew, but throw Jeremy's bunch in there and I'll bet that was one fun shoot! Thanks for that inside look!

Hannah Taylor (04-02-2010 at 5:26am):

Thanks for the video too! The images are great! I really like how you used that light.
